Hainan Station is another modern breed kopitiam in town.

Besides the usual kopi, roti bakar and soft-boiled eggs, Hainan Station also offers extended menus, including lunch sets like Hainan Chicken Rice, Nasi Lemak and Assam Laksa, amongst many other ala carte items.

In the cafe, a huge panoramic image of Malaya (my guess..) is hung on the wall, whilst marble tables and chairs are placed in the middle. There are also 3 leather cushion seats on the side.

Lunch of the day – Nasi Lemak with Ayam Rendang, served with anchovies & peanuts, acar, cucumber slices, half an egg and sambal. [RM 9.90 nett, inclusive of drinks - barley, cincau or mineral water]

Heaven is one of those cafes that offers music and food all-in-one.

Live music, entertainment, good singers (if you’re lucky) belting out good songs throughout the night, and F&B, all under one roof, for the record.

Crowds start coming in after 9pm, when the live music begins, and will not end until 1am, with 30 mins interval in between.

All three drinks are equally bad. Either too artificial or too sweet.

Finger food: Fried “Rubbery” Calamari [RM 8.90] & French “Soggy” Fries [RM5.90].

The only thing that compensate our sucky food and drinks tonight were the singers.

It’s been a long time since I last heard a good live trio on stage.

Heaven is right behind Sakae Sushi, Ground Floor on The Street.

this place needs little introduction.

most avid food-seekers would probably have heard and tried them. yeah, and they blog too!

What’s so special about DV , you ask?

Apparently, they’re ”the first of it’s kind steamboat restaurant that offers “live” seafood”.

Well, it’s true. the prawns were still jumping when they were dished up.

brightly lit and cool, patrons can opt for open air tables or singular huts like the above.

the blogger and her two kakis were recommended to Package A which includes a standard set for one, prawns [6 of them], [6 GIANT] clams and 2 pieces of flower crabs.

the package is enough for 2 and is priced at RM 59. 

on top of these, we added a plate of enoki mushroom a.k.a straw mushrooms and a plate of tong ho which is priced at RM 6 respectively.

their signature drunken pot soup base [herbal soup base] is available at an additional charge of RM 10.

this is the blogger’s second visit to daorae garden, and it is still the best korean restaurant (she says) compared to the few others she previously patronised.

Service is excellent, [the attentive boss served us... wooooot!], and they have mini range hood installed at EVERY table to suck the smoke from the BBQ grill.

Bravo! Clean indoor air!

Now, back to basics.. the food..

seaweed soup and and korean pizza (pancake with seafoods and vegetables) to start, both on the house.

the blogger and friend ordered daorae’s “special pork” [RM 35], which is served unmarinated. two thumbs up!
“…so good to eat you can even eat it on its own…” – just got to loan this from gardenia

if you prefer stronger taste, just dip the meat into the sesame oil provided.

next, daorae’s skinless chicken marinated in hot chilli sauce. [RM27]. unfortunately, this is not up to the blogger’s liking.

lastly, bi-bim-bap (korean mixed rice), the blogger’s favourite!

Served in a heated stone bowl and topped with vegetables, beef/chicken, egg, and gochujang (chile pepper paste). All these will be stirred together just before eating.
